Welcome to The Photo Chamber!
I'm Chamber and here is a bit about me and my work.
My relationship with Jesus is the foundation of who I am, and photography has become one of the ways through which I glorify Him. Most of my inspiration comes from old paintings because my grandmother was a painter and introduced me to that style when I was young. This has driven the passion for creating photographs that feel painterly and nostalgic.
Outside of photography, I love being outdoors and spending time in nature. I learned to love the outdoors from camping and nature walks with my other grandmother. This Grandmother also taught me to enjoy exploring different kinds of art and media; especially trying new things and seeing what I can create. My Grandma is probably also the person who started my love for digitally capturing moments. Growing up she was always carrying her video camera and taking Home Videos with my sister and I, and once she got a phone we were always taking pictures of every little thing we did.
I’m friendly and easy-going, and I like making people feel comfortable and relaxed around me. I’m also a good problem solver, and I like trying to figure things out when it gets tricky. Finally, if you know me, you know I can’t end this paragraph without mentioning that I LOVE the color green; it has been my favorite color since as long as I can remember. In every season, I hope to keep creating with intention, gratitude, and purpose.
I also want to thank my Mom for helping me get as far as I am. She has always supported and encouraged me and my work. When I was young, she let me borrow an old camera to mess around with and after graduating from high school, bought me my first DSLR. After dropping out of college my first year after struggling to find what I wanted to do, she encouraged me to go back and join the Visual Communications program which had a heavy focus on photography. While there, she always helped me with my homework, especially when it came to modeling for the camera!
